Working with a leading chocolate confectionery manufacturer to test free gift ideas during vacations
Background/Challenge
The chocolate confectionery manufacturer wanted to explore which gift ideas would resonate most with children, especially during vacations time. They were toying with different gift options that could also include the sustainability element
Solution
We tested four ideas in a sequential monadic way, appraising each on set KPIs (e.g., appeal, relevance, uniqueness, etc.) and asked kids to choose their favourite and least favourite.
Impact
- Absolute clarity on which idea to progress with
- Significant savings achieved, as the client was saved from investing in ideas that wouldn’t have appealed
- Increased sales of their chocolate brand, with higher awareness via social sharing of free gifts
- Positive brand perception as it was perceived as a socially responsible brand for using sustainable materials and encouraging kids to adopt sustainability in their day to day lives
